FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers to the questions patients ask most often.

Am I a suitable candidate for FUE?

+

Candidacy depends on the stability of your donor area, the degree of hair loss and your expectations. The best way to find out is a private photo assessment — DrQ will give you an honest opinion before any consultation fee is charged.

How natural will the result look?

+

A well-planned FUE result should be completely undetectable. Natural-looking results depend on age-appropriate hairline placement, precise graft angulation and realistic density expectations. DrQ designs every hairline individually with long-term appearance in mind.

How many grafts will I need?

+

Graft count depends on the area being treated, current density and the degree of cover required. Typical ranges are 1,500–2,500 for hairline work, 2,500–4,000 for frontal zone and crown combined. An accurate estimate is only possible after a proper doctor assessment.

Is the procedure painful?

+

FUE is performed under local anaesthetic. Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure and mild tenderness for a few days afterwards. Oral pain relief is prescribed as part of the aftercare protocol.

When will I see results?

+

Transplanted hairs shed in the first 4–6 weeks — this is normal and expected. New growth begins from month 3–4. Significant improvement is visible by month 6, with the full result at 12 months.

Is the result permanent?

+

Yes. Transplanted follicles are taken from the donor area, which is genetically resistant to DHT-driven hair loss. Once established, they will continue to grow permanently.

Will there be any visible scarring?

+

FUE leaves tiny circular donor sites that heal within days and are not visible under normal hair length. There is no linear scar.

What is the recovery like?

+

Most patients return to desk-based work within 3–5 days. Redness and scabbing resolve within 2 weeks. Strenuous exercise is avoided for 2 weeks. Full written aftercare instructions are provided.

Do I need to stop any medications before surgery?

+

Some medications need to be paused before surgery — including blood thinners, minoxidil and certain supplements. DrQ will review your medication list at consultation and advise accordingly.

How do I start?

+

Begin with a free private photo assessment. Upload a few photos from your phone and DrQ will personally review your candidacy and send back an honest opinion within 1–2 working days. No consultation fee required at this stage.
